Follow your intuition to your next adventure.

Welcome back to the "add more adventure to your life" series!

I'm sharing with you the tips and tricks that I use to add more adventure into my life. My aim is not to tell you exactly WHAT  you can do to have more adventures e.g. go skydiving or take a road trip. Rather I'll share how you can BE, ways you can think and actions you can take to draw more of your kind of adventures into your life.

Adventure is different for everyone so adopt my tips to suit you. Apply them to your version of adventure. Decide for yourself what adventure means. I’ll show you the tools and you just have to implement them. Think outside the box, apply these principles and you too can truly lead an adventurous life.

What is intuition?

If you're truly in need of more adventure, your intuition will guide you.

Intuition is "The ability to understand something instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning." The thinking mind that we use so much. We often try to think the solution out of the problem… rather just sit back and let the answers flow to you rather than force them out.

It could also be said as trusting your gut or following your instincts. If adventure is truly what you want, intuition will guide you there. So often these days we THINK we know what’s best so it can be hard to tune into intuition

How to follow your intuition...

1. Get aligned in your energy - find positive vibrations, do something that makes you feel joyful and makes you feel happy. Getting into alignment is different for everyone, put simply, do what makes you happy.

2. Trust in the subtle pulls, messages and nudges from the universe - trust your gut message. Try not to let conscious reasoning to take over and thinking you know what is right.

3. Follow and trust the instinctual messages to your next adventure - what is it telling you to do? Do that!

This is a personal process that will be different for everyone. It requires giving up the control of you conscious thoughts. The only way to tune into this is to practice for yourself.

Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.
— Rumi

My example

Early in 2017 I was living and working on the surfcost. I really enjoyed where I was living yet things were not lining up with my work. My instinctive feeling was that I should return to the mountains and work at the snow. Yet my conscious mind didn’t really want to go back to this.

When I jumped online to look for some work at Falls Creek, there was a perfect position for me. I immediately contacted the woman about the role and it fell into my lap almost effortlessly. Despite all of this I leaned into the adventure and everything flowed into my life so easily finding a house and snowboarding almost every day. I never looked back.

Final note

Your intuition may not make 'logical' sense but when you trust and follow it, it will become clear. You will be required you to give up your control of trying to 'think' the right answer, adventure or solution you actually have to surrender to the intuition and let it guide you.
