Change...how to REALLY make it work for you.

Change...how to REALLY make it work for you.

Another winter flickers past. We’re about to turn the calendar to September. Did you set new years resolutions? ...Eight months ago? Or perhaps your rolling your eyes at the fact I even mentioned them. Statistics show that most people give up their resolutions 2-3 weeks into the New Year and only 8-10% of people actually follow through with them. That seems quite a high number if you ask me.

Whenever you have an important date set in your calendar it seems that the world will throw everything it's got at you, just to really see how bad you want it. I knew life was a bit of a rollercoaster but these last few weeks, a crazy patch, made me wonder if I was going to fly off the rails.

Step forward...life is a wild ride.

Step forward...life is a wild ride.

Isn't it easy to lose yourself in this world? Now even more so than 10 or 20 years ago. We live in the age of information where anything we want to know is at the end of our fingertips, quite literally. Social media lets us peer into the lives of so many. Comparison is easy, judgment is easier as we really are only perceiving the world with our own eyes and thoughts and creating a story around what we choose to focus on.

Focus on whats working.

Focus on whats working.

We're living in a fast past world, you would have to agree. There is so much happening and news travels at the click of a button or at speed of a post. There are so many trillions of messages flying around in our every day, how on earth do we funnel them into our lives to best serve us.

Is 'busy' your excuse?

Is 'busy' your excuse?

Busy means to keep occupied or having a great deal to do. But it seems to me we make this word so much more. A few months ago I set out on a quest to bring awareness to how this word is used. After all we all have the same amount of time it's just how we prioritize it. Is ‘busy’ really just a mindset? Are we using busy as an excuse?

A note on perception, how to react differently.

I've always thought of my life as a roller coaster. I feel like I've experienced incredible highs, along with horrible lows. But my life is just a series of events, label them what you wish...good, bad, ugly. I bet everyone would perceive them in a different manner. What is a roller coaster are my emotions, brought on by my perception of these moments….

Are you holding back without realising?

Are you holding back without realising?

Thunder grumbled all around us as the giant raindrops fell here there and everywhere. We'd just paddled our canoe into shore after 2 hours of exploring around Sydney's Royal National Park. The last 30 minutes the storm flickered and growled, giving us the most spectacular sound and light show. Probably best we get off the water to set up camp! I was somewhat tired recovering from a stomach bug a few days earlier. The paddle out here had been fun as we'd escaped the ever increasing waves from tipping us and all our camp gear on the drink.
