Reflecting on the Inspired Womens Showcase

Whenever you have an important date set in your calendar it seems that the world will throw everything it's got at you, just to really see how bad you want it. I knew life was a bit of a rollercoaster but these last few weeks, a crazy patch, made me wonder if I was going to fly off the rails.

Another day on Erith Island. One of three islands that make up the Kent Group, approximately half way between Tasmania and Victoria, Australia’s mainland. The only way to get here is to charter a yacht or sea kayak, which we were doing on our expedition to paddle across Bass Strait.

Unpacking lessons from my adventures.

Can you imagine standing at the top of a bobsleigh track in the Austrian winter dressed only in a one piece lycra suit getting ready to hurl yourself down the icy slide? Or swimming in the mercy alligator infested rivers of the Amazon in hope that you might see a pink dolphin. Or perhaps in the middle of Bass Strait's open ocean in a sea kayak unable to see land in any direction?

My name is Abby, energy, lifestyle and adventure enthusiast. I do my best to stand apart from my experiences, some of which you read above. I recognise they are not who I am, yet have given me invaluable lessons and shaped my character to what it is today. You may not have found yourself in these exact places but you may be able to relate and even if you cant I urge you to read on.
