As I started talking more and more about Reverse Culture Shock, I also realised that some of my thoughts and ideas were getting entangled with Post Travel Blues. I started using these words interchangeably, however I soon realised that they are not the same thing. In fact they are very very different. We can start by looking at the meaning of both. I found these definitions.

Returning home from travelling, living or simply holidaying abroad can leave you with a wide range of mixed emotions. From unsettled and sad to excited and happy to confused and lost. Perhaps it’s a result of the awareness and experiences you had if a different culture, a shift in mindset and perception, a realisation of how different developing nations are compared to the western world, seeing poverty and people live with very little.
