As I started talking more and more about Reverse Culture Shock, I also realised that some of my thoughts and ideas were getting entangled with Post Travel Blues. I started using these words interchangeably, however I soon realised that they are not the same thing. In fact they are very very different. We can start by looking at the meaning of both. Returning home from travelling, living or simply holidaying abroad can leave you with a wide range of mixed emotions. From unsettled and sad to excited and happy to confused and lost. There are so many different reasons you might be feeling this way. Perhaps it’s a result of the awareness and experiences you had if a different culture, a shift in mindset and perception, a realisation of how different developing nations are compared to the western world, seeing poverty and people live with very little.

The 'excitement' phase of seeing family and friends moves through pretty fast and all of a sudden you thinking to yourself ‘what next?’ Not to mention that everyone around you is also asking ‘What are you going to do now?’
